Malacca has several key landmark attractions that were only recently established. The Eye on Malaysia is a large viewing wheel that was moved from Tasik Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur to Malacca in order to boost tourism in the state. The Taming Sari Tower, completed in 2008, is a revolving tower that provides another great view point to see the city.
Eye on Malaysia
The Eye on Malaysia is the world's largest portable ferris wheel, standing at 60 meters high. Situated at the mouth of the Melaka River in Kota Laksamana, Bandar Hilir, the Eye on Malaysia was originally located in Kuala Lumpur before it was moved here. Visitors and tourists can ride the wheel up and get a breathtaking view of the historical city of Malacca and the Straits of Melaka on different sides.
Taming Sari Tower
The Menara Taming Sari is a 110 meter high viewing tower recently built in Bandar Hilir. It is Malaysia's first and only revolving gyro tower, which means that visitors will ride on a large platform that spins around the tower from the bottom to the top. It takes about a minute to reach the peak, from where it will spin slowly for 5 minutes so that visitors can take in the view of the surrounding landscape, and then spin down in another minute.
